Habiba green

artist showcase #13

habiba green @habibagreen

I am Habiba, a 31 year old artist that lives in London, UK. I have been painting for as long as I can remember.

I started oil painting at nine years old and later decided to devote my life into art studying graphic design and illustration. I am proud to have organised and participated as a curator at various events. My work is focused in traditional techniques along with digital tools, introducing minimalism, following a concept called: “less is more.”

My intention is to represent the uncertainty of emotions from a woman’s perspective and embrace it. I want to express vulnerability, loss and regeneration; to me this translates into a healing cycle, a continuation. Sometimes my work is biographical and sometimes it is a reflection of what I contemplate in others.

“I am a woman, I am strong, but also fragile, like all of us.”

how we discovered
HABIBA GREEN

We came across Habiba Green very early on in our NFT journey, and it was love at first sight. To be quite honest, it’s our honour to feature her in our showcase.

Although created digitally, there is an organic and tactile quality to Habiba’s work that feels effortless whilst looking at it. Her minimalistic lines show constraint and consideration when describing the female form, which is usually central in a lot of her works.

She uses the same care when it comes to colour, using it sparingly to often highlight cheeks, lips and maybe the odd flower to give her pieces a contrast that is almost a trademark in her work.

These result in gorgeous, melancholic, deceptively simple drawings that are punctuated with powerful use of colour.

Artists like Habiba elevate the whole NFT space, not just with her art but as a person and inspiration.

upcoming work

My plans are continuing my NFT collections on Foundation and OpenSea. I’ll be creating a generative project and collaborations with remarkable artists coming very, very soon...

I’m extremely excited for the present while looking forward to the future.

My intention is to never stop building and connecting in this inspiring decentralised world. I think this space is revolutionary, the new art revolution has arrived!

My journey in the NFT space was a coincidence and thanks to it I’m enjoying the freedom that web3 has brought to many web2 artists like me.

I will continue creating, learning and keep growing with the amazing community.
